Visiting a family member
Under the current circumstances, each facility has implemented new policies and procedures around visiting loved ones that are currently in hospital.
For patients at Netcare hospitals

All visiting hours have been suspended as of 25 March 2020

Exceptions

Neonatal patients - Only 1 parent at a time*

Paediatric patients - Only 1 parent at a time*

Gravely ill patients - Visitors allowed on approval.

* This parent is required to have had no COVID-19 exposure and accepts that very strict
infection prevention controls will be put in place to minimise the risks to their child and other
children being cared for in our facilities. No grandparents and siblings will be allowed to visit.
For patients at Mediclinic hospitals

All visiting hours have been temporarily withdrawn as of 1 April 2020

Visits to Neonatal ICU (one parent at a time)

Visits to paediatric unit (one parent may live in with child)

Visits to maternity unit (father / partner may visit)

Visits to critically ill patients (visits per arrangement with hospital management)
